Exercise

The advice is 30 minutes per day (or two 15mins), on most days of the week. The best exercise is the sort that is built in to your everyday life so you make it a habit. Walking and cycling are excellent ways of doing this.

For children, the advice is to accumulate 60 minutes of physical activity on most days of the week.

To acheive the most benefit, the exercise needs to be enough to make you feel warm and breath more deeply than usual.

Selby is in a flat area with a relatively high level of cycling. Why not get your bike out and get back into cycling?

We can also arrange Exercise on Prescription with local leisure centres for people who will benefit from professional guidance on getting back into exercise - please discuss this with your GP or Practice Nurse.
